Konica Minolta Intros New Ultra-Zoom

Mahwah, N.J. — Konica Minolta updated its ultra-zoom line with the new DiMAGE Z6.

The 6-megapixel Z6 features a 12x optical zoom lens (35mm-420mm/35mm equivalent) with the company’s Anti-Shake CCD-shifting technology to reduce blurry images caused by hand motion.

The camera also features the company’s Rapid AF with predictive focus control for focusing in .2 seconds at the wide angle and in .3 seconds in telephoto. Additional features include a 2-inch LCD, 4x digital zoom, PictBridge-compatibility, five scene modes and a super macro focus to 1cm.

The camera accepts four AA alkaline batteries for up to 240 shots in addition to rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for up to approximately 420 shots.The camera uses SD memory (16MB included).

In the Z6’s progressive capture mode records, the camera can record images at 1.8 frames per second at highest quality mode to 10 frames.

The Z6 will ship in mid-September with an estimated retail price of $399.99.
