Kodak Places 3K Digital Stations

Rochester, N.Y. – Kodak announced today that it will roll out its Picture Maker Digital Stations kiosks to more than 3,000 CVS drug stores nationwide.

The rollout is slated to be completed by the middle of the summer and will allow CVS to offer customers the opportunity to make prints from digital media including flash memory cards, CDs and disks.

According to a company statement, CVS customer research indicates that there is a strong demand from consumers for photo-quality digital printing at retail.

‘Our customers don’t want their memories stuck on hard drives,’ said Judy Strauss Sansone, VP, merchandising /photo, CVS.

The Picture Maker Digital Station uses a touch-screen interface which customers navigate to preview and select the photos they want to print, choose sizes and quantities, and make image enhancements such as red-eye reduction. The kiosks accepts CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, SD/MMC memory card formats, and Picture CDs.

All CVS photo technicians will be trained and Kodak-certified.
