Kodak Offers First CMOS Camera

Rochester, N.Y. — Kodak will ship next month its first digital camera to incorporate its CMOS image sensor.

The camera will be positioned in the company’s entry-level C-series. The EasyShare C513 incorporates a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor developed by Kodak. According to the company, using the home-grown technology allowed them to achieve a lower price point — a suggested $99 — and improved image quality.

The C513 will also feature a 3x optical zoom, 2.4-inch LCD screen, digital image stabilization and in-camera image editing.
