Emeryville, Calif. — Kodak will offer long-term photo backup for members of its Gallery Premier service, the company announced today.
Kodak Gallery Premier members will be able to enroll in the new “Picture Protection Plan,” effective immediately. If members’ hard drives crash and erase their images, Kodak will mail them an archive CD of all the images currently stored on the gallery.
The service will also cover photo books and calendars purchased through the Gallery. If either is destroyed, Gallery Premier members will be sent a credit up to $500 to recreate the items through the Web-site.
Gallery Premier members pay $24.99 a year and also receive free Web addresses and unlimited photo downloads. For $49.99 a year, Kodak offers a print price of $0.10 per 4-inch by 6-inch photo.
