Rochester, N.Y. — Kodak and Wal-Mart said today that they are collaborating on a photo kiosk recycling program.

The companies expect the program to recycle 2 million pounds of thermal printer ribbon, spools and cartridges from roughly 4,100 Wal-Mart and Sam’s Clubs stores in the United States.

Kodak has changed the way its thermal materials are packaged to decrease weight and package size to further reduce its waste.

Earlier this week Wal-Mart named Kodak its supplier of the year in the photo center/electronics category.
