Klipsch Exec Shifts To Tymphany

Cupertino, Calif. — OEM speaker maker Tymphany hired Klipsch executive Tom Jacoby as CEO. He replaces Mike Hackworth, who continues as Tymphany’s chairman of the board.

Tymphany makes speaker drivers for other suppliers and markets them under the Peerless, Tymphany, ScanSpeak and Vifa names.

Jacoby was vice chairman and corporate development officer at Klipsch Group, where he continues to serve on the board of directors. He also serves on the Tymphany board and on the boards of the California Clean Energy Fund and Homeland Energy Resource Development.

At Klipsch, Jacoby was instrumental in expanding Klipsch’s presence in the home consumer market through the acquisition of premium loudspeaker brands Jamo, Energy, Mirage and Athena, Tymphany said. Before joining Klipsch, Jacoby spent 20 years with Harman International Industries, including time as president/CEO of Harman Consumer Group.

Tymphany recently added former Harman executives Michael Oslac as president/COO and Jay Wessell as chief financial officer. Wessel was also with Recoton Home Audio.

Tymphany’s products are manufactured in Denmark and China.
