Klipsch, a presenting sponsor of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has co-announced next year’s inductees.

Entering the Hall’s vaunted ranks are:

  • Bon Jovi
  • The Cars
  • Dire Straits
  • The Moody Blues
  • Nina Simone
  • Sister Rosetta Tharpe (Early Influence award)

To be eligible, an individual artist or band must have released a commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of induction — meaning this year’s nominees released their first official recordings before 1993.

Ballots were sent to an international voting body of more than 900 artists, historians and members of the music industry. A fan vote was also factored into the decisions.

Save for The Cars, all of the 2018 inductees were first-time nominees.

Klipsch, a premium audio brand and Voxx International subsidiary, is also a Hall of Fame strategic partner. Other sponsors include SiriusXM and United Airlines.

The 2018 induction ceremony will be held April 14 at Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, and will be rebroadcast on HBO and SiriusXM.
