Fountain Valley, Calif. — Memory manufacturer Kingston Technology introduced high-capacity memory cards aimed at the exploding market for multimedia mobile phones.
The company will ship a 2GB miniSD and a 2GB MMCmobile card to dealers this month. Both cards will retail for $80.
In addition to the cards, the company launched a mobile phone portal on its Web site to promote the use of expansion memory cards in mobile phones. In a partnership with Handango — an online store offering downloadable content for mobile phones — Kingston’s Mobile Phone Village will give mobile users an opportunity to purchase content that can be stored on flash-memory cards.
