Stillwater, Okla. – Stillwater has
begun shipping its Kicker-brand KS series of coaxial and three-way car speakers
designed for drop-in replacement of factory speakers.
The updated series of 10 models,
priced from a suggested $59.95 to $179.95/pair, features larger magnet/motor
structures than the predecessor series to handle more power, be more efficient,
and thus play louder and with greater accuracy, a spokesman said.
The models also feature proprietary
Extended Voice Coil technology to deliver high excursion and thus deeper bass
response.
The series starts with 3.5-inch
coaxial and tops out with a 6×9-inch three-way model with 1-inch midrange and
0.75-inch tweeter. Sizes include 3.5-, 4-, 4×10-, 5.25-, 6-, 6.5-, 6×8, and
6×9-inch models. The products were shown at International CES.
