New York — Kensington’s computer products group expanded its line of tablet and smartphone accessories, including some SKUs for the new iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III, and debuted its first line of Ultrabook accessories.
New from the company are charging devices, security products, cases, docking stations and USB hubs.
Kensington also added new mobile device chargers to its PowerBolt and AbsolutePower car and wall charger line. The new products are compatible with most smartphones and tablets, including the iPhone 5’s new Lightning connector.
The chargers incorporate Kensington’s PowerWhiz technology, which automatically recognizes the power needs of the mobile device plugged in and provides the proper amps for the fastest charge.
Kensington’s AbsolutePower 2.1 is designed for tablets and retails for $24.99. It provides 2.1 amps of power and has foldable socket blades. The AbsolutePower 1.0 is for smartphones and retails for $19.99. They both are also available separately as 12-volt car chargers.
The new PowerBolt 4.2 FastCharge for Two Tablets sports two 2.1 amp USB ports for simultaneous tablet charging. It retails for $29.99. The PowerBolt 2.1 charges two smartphones and retails for $24.99.
Kensington also introduced new cases designed for the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III, including leather texture cases, flip wallets and wallet cases with a built-in hands-free stand.
All the new designs include access points for all controls and buttons and the iPhone 5 models have a wide cutout for the iPhone 5’s iSight camera lens.
Kensington’s Vesto Leather Texture Case is available in Grey Lizard, Brown Marble, Teal Ostrich, Teal Nappa, Black Stingray and Black Snake, at a suggested retail of $29.99.
The new Portafolio Flip Wallet secures with a magnetic closure and includes slots for credit cards and ID. It comes in Tan Nappa, Green/Blue Nappa, Black/Orange Nappa, Teal Ostrich, Coffee Snake, Black Marble and Black Snake, retailing for $29.99
Kensington’s Portfolio Duo Wallet adds more card slots and a cash pocket, and includes a built-in landscape stand for video viewing or video chats. It comes in Brown Marble, orange/cream, Red Snake or Black Houndstooth and retails for $39.99.
All of the new cases were designed under the supervision of Sasha Vermel, a San Francisco designer and artist.
“Our customers have asked for products that complement their fashion choices, and this new collection of cases was designed to meet that need,” Matthew Hoag, Kensington’s global product manager, told TWICE at a briefing.
Kensington first line of accessories for Ultrabooks includes the MicroSaver Ultrabook Laptop Keyed Lock, for desktop security; the new SureTrack Mouse, designed for use on any surface including glass; the Presentair Bluetooth Presenter and Laser and Stylus; two new docking stations that access all peripherals with one cord; a universal power adapter; two executive styluses; a cooling stand; and a neoprene sleeve case.
