New York — The displacement of over a million people in the wake of Hurricane Katrina has affected the consumer electronics industry, leaving surviving stores in the area without salespeople, store managers and car stereo installers.
Some resourceful industry members have created a list of Gulf Coast stores that are looking to hire new employees and a listing of stores in other regions who are willing to hire displaced industry members.
The following list was compiled in various parts by the Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association (MERA) and Sunbelt Associates in Carrollton, Texas:
