JVC Introduces YouTube Camcorder

Wayne, N.J. — JVC will join the ranks of manufacturers seeking to pair a camcorder with the popular online sharing site YouTube when it ships the GZ-MS100 to dealers in June.

The new SDHC card-based Everio GZ-MS100 ($349) can record video in 10-minute increments (to meet

YouTube file-size limits) when users press a dedicated “upload” button before recording. Using supplied desktop software from CyberLink, the MS100 will automatically upload the video when the camcorder is connected to a PC after a consumer presses the upload button.

The camcorder can record at longer intervals, fitting up to one hour of MPEG-2 video on a 4GB SDHC card in highest-quality mode. It features a 35x optical zoom lens, digital image stabilization, JVC’s Gigabrid processor and a variety of still-shooting modes.

The MS100 also offers JVC’s “laser touch” menu; a 2.7-inch LCD with automatic backlight control; and auto power on/off, which lets consumers turn the camcorder on or off by opening or closing the LCD.
