JVC, APBA Partner On Adixxion Promo

Wayne, N.J. — JVC said Friday it has teamed up with the American Power Boat Association (APBA) to make the JVC Adixxion action video camera “the official multimedia provider” to the powerboat racing organization.

The two-year sponsorship, which kicks off this week, includes JVC on-site participation at APBA events and exposure for the brand on the APBA website and in the organization’s magazine and social media outlets.

In addition, JVC will provide the APBA, the U.S. governing body for power boat racing, with Adixxion cameras so drivers can capture point-of-view (POV) action from the cockpit of their powerboats during races to share with fans.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for JVC to show off the unique capabilities of our Adixxion action camera,” said Karl Bearnarth, JVC Americas marketing senior VP. “Powerboat racing is without a doubt an exciting sport that attracts a huge following of enthusiastic fans, who we believe will be thrilled at the driver’s seat views our Adixxion camera provides.”

“In our more than 110 years of existence the American Power Boat Association has never had a partnership like this before.  We are very pleased to have a company with the caliber of JVC to be our official multimedia provider,” APBA executive director Dan Wiener said.  “The new Adixxion camera will revolutionize how boat racers record video.”

The following is a list of APBA season events where JVC will be featuring the Adixxion camera:

• Bay City River Roar, Bay City, Mich., June 21-23;

• DYC Detroit APBA Gold Cup, Detroit, July 12-14;

• Quake On The Lake 14, Waterford/White Lake, Mich., July 19-21; and

• The Wildwoods N.J. Governor’s Cup Hydrofest, Wildwood Crest, N.J., Oct. 12-13.

A fifth race will be announced.

The JVC GC-XA1 Adixxion is a ruggedized, pocket-sized video/still camera weighing 0.25 pound that is waterproof to 16.4 feet, shock-proof from a drop of 6.5 feet, dustproof and freeze-proof, and does not require a separate housing. The action camera also features built-in Wi-Fi, a 1.5-inch LCD monitor, image stabilizer and up to FullHD 1,920 by 1,080/30p video capture.
