Miramar, Fla. — JL Audio announced the passing of Steve Duffield, its technical support manager who helped thousands of retailers and consumers each year and was known in the industry for his dedication.
Duffield died of an apparent heart attack suddenly on Monday at the age of 31.
JL Audio said, “Steve consistently exhibited patience, deep expertise and respect for our customers. We often received comments and emails from dealers and consumers he had helped, praising his willingness to help and go the extra mile to answer their questions or solve their technical problems.
“As technical support manager, Steve was very well liked and respected by his co-workers and played a huge role in JL Audio’s consistently high industry rankings for tech support over the years,” according to a spokesperson.
Duffield began his car audio career at The Car Shoppe in South Florida as a salesman and installer and joined JL Audio in 1999 as a technical support specialist. He served as manager of technical support for the past four years.
JL Audio is organizing a fund drive to help Duffield’s wife and young daughter, Madison, in this time of need. The company will match all contributions made on a one-to-one basis.
