Jensen Readies Low-Cost In-Dash Navigation Receiver

Hauppauge, N.Y. — The second new in-dash multimedia/navigation receiver unveiled by Jensen in recent weeks offers a 6.2-inch touchscreen, iPod/iPhone USB, AM/FM/DVD player, and stereo Bluetooth at a suggested $449.

The VX6020 ships in mid-September to join the previously announced flagship navigation receiver, the $549-suggested VM9726BT, also with 6.2-inch touchscreen. The new model hits a lower price point than before for a Jensen navigation receiver with similar features, the company said.

The new model, with a $399 street price, comes with interactive demo mode, iGo Primo navigation, U.S. map database, and built-in stereo and hands-free Bluetooth with Android and iPhone phonebook download. Other features include MP3 playback, FM-RDS, SD card slot, 3.5mm audio/video input, and front/rear/sub RCA lineout. It also offers 4×40-watt peak output, rear-camera input, video out, steering-wheel-control interface and remote control.

The flagship $549 VM9726BT, recently launched as part of a series of six multimedia head units, connects to an optional SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner, controls the Pandora app on a USB-connected iPhone, and features multizone capability, SD slot, USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm A/V input, Parrot Bluetooth, RGB front-panel LED lighting for thousands of colors, five selectable wallpaper backgrounds and the ability to upload 12 user wallpapers.

The navigation receivers feature a new look, feel and user interface along with a gloss-black finish, the company said.

The new model’s introduction date was accelerated for a launch in time for holiday sales, the company said.
