Jensen Getting Wider Docking Speaker Lineup

CHICAGO —

Spectra Merchandising, under the
Jensen brand, is adding three certified Made For
iPod and iPhone docking speaker systems.

It is offering its first iPad-docking speaker system,
first three-piece music system with iPod/
iPhone dock, and first iPod/iPhone docking system
with wireless speakers.

The $149-suggested JiMS-260i is the threepiece
system, which features CD player, FM tuner
with 10 presets and iPod/iPhone dock. The system,
which can be wall-mounted or placed on a
table, lets users wake up to radio, CD or iPod/
iPhone music.

The system with wireless speakers is the
$149-suggested JiSS-600i, due in the middle of
December. Its dock features removable rechargeable
wireless speakers that stream iPod/iPhonestored
music from up to 125 feet from the charging
station/base. A removable wireless USB transmitter
in the back of the base can be removed and inserted into a computer’s USB to stream music from a PC.

The weather-resistant speakers have power/status indicators,
independent volume controls and rechargeable
lithium-ion batteries. Speaker charging is accomplished
inductive wireless charging pads located on the base unit.

For the iPad, Spectra has begun shipping its previously
announced $99.99 JiPS-250i. It takes the form of
a speaker tube with side-firing speakers and adjustable
holder that rotates the iPad into portrait and landscape
modes. It also angles the iPad up to 55 degrees to enable
easy use of the iPad’s virtual keyboard, and it delivers
iPad/iPod/iPhone-stored video to a connected TV
via the speaker’s composite-video output.

A free app for the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad deliver
additional speaker-system features, including a deluxe
alarm clock with various wake/sleep sounds, Internet
radio, voice message calendar, custom EQ settings,
music player, nature sounds, photo album and MyMusic
subscription service. MyMusic lets users access their
personal music collections via the Internet.
