iTunes to Carry Starbucks Music

Cupertino, Calif.—Starbucks and Apple announced that the Hear Music catalog that is played and sold at Starbucks shops is now available on Apple’s iTunes.

Starbucks titles are available in a new area within the iTunes store called the Starbucks Entertainment area.

Starbucks entered the music business when it purchased Hear Music in 1999. In 2004, Starbucks teamed with XM Satellite Radio to offer a Starbucks Hear Music Channel on XM, and later began co-producing a series of CDs with XM that are sold in Starbucks stores and online. Starbucks co-produces CDs with various labels and operates several locations where users can download music.
