Corona, Calif. – iON Cameras is kicking off its second year as the official point-of-view “POV” camera of Team Lucas and Lucas Oil Studios for 2014.
Team Lucas is a “grassroots” advertising and marketing platform created by Lucas Oil that the company claims reaches hundreds of millions of consumers a year.
As part of a new marketing partnership, iON cameras will continue to support and appear at all motorsports events and properties operated by Lucas Oil.
Scheduled activities include the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League, Lucas Oil Modified Series, Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series.
iON cameras are also used during all events and for broadcasts originating from both the Lucas Oil 1-10 Speedway in California and the Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri.
Lucas and iON also recently teamed to produce a racing video.
iON is a technical partner to the Lucas Oil-owned and operated production facility, Lucas Oil Production Studios, which will use iON Air Pro, Speed Pro, Adventure and other iON cameras to capture POV camera footage at all Lucas motorsports events, the companies said.
The footage will then be aired during the events and used in the production of live and taped broadcasts that air across five networks: CBS, CBS Sports, NBC, NBC Sports and the Lucas Oil-owned MAVTV cable network.
“The picture qualities of the iON Cameras are amazing,” said Bob Patison, Lucas Oil executive VP and MAVTV president. “The stability and the structure of the cameras enable us to greatly enhance the viewer experience, creating an interactive environment that drives more viewers to our programming.”
Lucas event drivers and personnel will be using the top-of-the-line iON Air Pro 3, latest top-of-the-line POV camera, feature a 12-megapixel sensor, 120 fps HD video and 160-degree lens.
Video clips from Lucas Oil racing events will be available on social-media channels, offering racing enthusiasts a view of racing from the driver's perspective.
“Team Lucas events and Lucas Oil Production Studios produce some of the most exciting racing on the planet,” said Giovanni Tomaselli, iON America CEO and founder. “iON point-of-view cameras are an important component of the Lucas Oil production values and we are thrilled to be working with Lucas Studios to help make possible state-of-the-art motorsports coverage across a wide variety of broadcast platforms.”
