Ion Audio Brings Audio Mix To CES

LAS VEGAS — Ion Audio went to International CES with a plethora of new products, including what it called the only plug-in party system.

The Party Ball projects multicolored lights in a 360-degree arc. The device features internal sensors that enable the lights to move and pulsate along with the music source, the company said. It can screw into any ceiling-mounted light socket.

An extension cable and a wallpower adapter are also included.

Ion Audio also expanded its all-in-one audio systems, and it updated its Party Rocker wireless speaker; the Party Rocker 2 includes a free phone app for controlling the lights.

The all-in-one Block Party features a 50-watt speaker, Bluetooth, built-in rechargeable battery, wheels and a telescoping handle, while the Party Starter is a portable compact Bluetooth speaker with built-in lights and charging via USB.

The Mega Party home entertainment system comes with built-in lights, Bluetooth, two USB ports, FM radio with digital tuner, a mic and a RCA input.

It also has a 2.2-channel linear Class A/B amplifier with a built-in CD player and two rugged speaker cabinets, each with a 15-inch subwoofer, two 4-inch woofers, and a 1-inch tweeter. Both the subwoofers and woofers are illuminated with multicolored lights that sync to the beat, according to Ion. The top of each speaker also has a multi-mode light dome.

The Max LP all-in-one digital conversion turntable features integrated stereo speakers, a wood finish, dust cover, aux input and RCA outputs. It can connect to a computer via an included USB cable.

For consumers who want to create their own sounds, Ion showcased the Lighted drum kit with four drum pads, three cymbal pads, a compact kick trigger and high-hat trigger.

The built-in drum coach offers beatby- beat instructions as the pads light up, indicating which one to strike, said Ion. It also has ¼- and 1/8-inch outputs for amplifier and headphones, and it can connect to a computer via USB.
