Iomega Lays Off 110, Moves Production Offshore

Roy, Utah – Iomega’s troubles continued yesterday as the company laid-off 110 employees and announced that its production facilities would be moved from here to Malaysia.

The job cuts went into effect immediately and primarily effected production workers in the company’s Roy manufacturing facility. Iomega already does the majority of its production in Malaysia.

This news follows the resignation of Bruce Albertson on May 21, who left, he said, over differences between himself and the board of directors concerning long-term strategy.
