Intel Q3 Revenue, Net Income Up

Sante Clara, Calif. – Intel posted net income and revenue
increases for the third quarter and broke a company record for the number of
processors shipped.

For the quarter, ended Sept. 30, Intel generated $14.3
billion in sales, up 29 percent from the same period in 2010. Net income was
$3.7 billion, up 24 percent from the prior year. Operating income also enjoyed
a large bump, rising 22 percent year over year to $5.1 billion.

Paul Otellini, Intel CEO and president, credited the growth
to notebook computer sales. Intel did not release how many processors it
shipped during the quarter, but claimed it was a record amount.
