New York – Intel today pulled the plug on its connected products division, the business segment selling digital cameras, high-tech toys and digital audio players.
Intel cited poor sales and a need to concentrate on its core chip-making business for the move. The division’s door’s will be shut sometime during the first quarter of 2002, the company said.
The connected products division was responsible for the developing of the Intel Play line of toys and kids digital cameras, the Pocket Concert and a PC cameras for video email.
