Scottsdale, Ariz. – – DBL, Ingram Micro’s consumer
electronics division (IMCE), hosted back to back vendor expos on Oct. 9, here,
and Oct. 14-15 in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Scottsdale show, hosted at the new Talking Stick Resort,
featured 106 vendors exhibiting their existing line cards and more than 1,000
new products to more than 130 of IMCE’s brick and mortar and e-commerce
customers, Ingram Micro associates and industry affiliates.
Customers included several college campus bookstores, Beach
Audio, Digital Media, Newegg.com, PC Mall, CDW and Overstock.com to name a
few. Microsoft, Lenovo and NEC exhibited
side by side with Samsung, Sony, and Audio Technica, among many others, the
One highlight of the Scottsdale event was the introduction
of the XBox 360 and Kinect Sensor bar at the Microsoft booth. The new XBox 360 console has a 4GB hard drive
and built-in Wi-Fi. Both items are available through Ingram Micro following the
Nov. 4 release date.
Also represented were
Ingram Micro’s digital signage and physical security product divisions. Several vendors offered competitive show
specials while an iPad, XBox 360 and an Audio Technica turntable were raffled
off to attending customers.
The two-day Buffalo show was held at the Ingram Micro
facility and hosted more than 60 CE vendors that exhibited exclusively to the
Ingram Micro sales force. Exhibiting
vendors included Maxell, Cables Unlimited, Optoma, Pelican and Dreamgear.
This event gave more than 375 sales and tech support
associates their first hands-on exposure to the broad lineup of CE products
available to Ingram Micro customers, the distributor said.
In addition to the product and partnership opportunities,
IMCE announced at the Scottsdale Expo its fourth-quarter contest for one lucky
customer to win a Harley-Davidson Sportster
SuperLow motorcycle. For every
$1,000 in purchases a customer accumulates through IMCE, that customer will
earn one ticket in a drawing that will take place during the first quarter of 2011. Visit
