Indianapolis – Dion Longworth, product development and technology director at Indy Audio Labs, and his wife Jennifer died as a result of the recent home explosion in Indianapolis.
Longworth previously worked for Klipsch, said Indy CEO and co-founder Rick Santiago.
Indy Audio Labs worked with the families of the deceased to establish an educational fund through the Central Indiana Community Foundation, Santiago said. The fund will assist in education scholarships and grants as well as community beautification projects.

A wake will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 4-8 p.m. at Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Home, Greenwood, Indiana. A funeral mass will be held Monday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis.

Dion Longworth graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. His senior design project was seen by Klipsch, which hired him immediately upon graduation, Santiago said. Longworth worked on the team developing the first in-ceiling THX Ultra2-certified loudspeakers, and he was the first engineer assigned to lead projects in Klipsch’s Advanced Development Group.
In late 2008 Dion joined an Indiana start-up to develop new, high-efficiency plasma lighting for industrial and medical applications.
He returned to the CE industry in 2011 when he was hired by Indy Audio Labs as director of product development and technology.
