Huppin’s To Open 2nd Retail Location

Spokane, Wash. –
Huppin’s OneCall, the family-owned and operated CE retailer based here, is
opening its second store in the area this fall.

Huppins

, a 102-year-old retailer
that went online in 1994 and is a member of the Progressive Retailers
Organization (PRO Group), will open its second store at 8016 North Division,
just north of a Costco location and near Best Buy and Walmart stores, Murray
Huppin, president/CEO, told TWICE.

The new location
will be around the same size as its original store downtown, 8,000 square feet
of selling space, and have 10 fulltime employees, Huppin said.

The new store
allows Huppin’s to expand its current product line and will feature interactive
displays that show how home electronics can connect to the Internet. Store
personnel will be on hand to give demonstrations and help customers learn how
to integrate all home electronics, the retailer said in a statement.

For example,
customers can learn how to hook up their computer to their TV, allowing them to
watch YouTube videos, listen to music or surf the Internet on their home TV.
The store will also feature a 3D showcase that will include full 3D television
displays as well as the latest consumer 3D camcorders. Customers will be able
to shoot video in real time and play back videos on 3D TVs.

The expanded
product offerings will also be incorporated into Huppin’s iconic downtown
store. The addition of the second store will double Huppin’s current retail
selling space, doubling Huppin’s ability to serve its local customers, the
retailer said.

“This store will
be the first of its kind in Spokane, and we are excited to offer the next
generation of home electronics shopping experience to regional residents,” Huppin
said in a statement.

“After over 100
years in business, we are thrilled to continue growing our retail presence
locally. Keeping business local has always been important to us — we have a
wonderful and loyal customer base here,” he said.

Huppin’s employs more
than 90 people in Spokane and offers full installation and repair services.
Huppin’s online division, OneCall, was established in 1994 and serves customers
across the country.
