HTSA Holds Custom Managers Meeting

Indianapolis – The Home Technology
Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group concluded its 10

th

annual
Custom Managers Meeting here last week.

Forty-eight attendees, including members of the
A/V, custom install and systems integration group and vendor sponsors, met July
11-13 to share ideas and build relationships, which is a founding principle of HTSA.

“Every year this meeting attracts
the best and brightest leaders within the HTSA membership,” said HTSA executive
director Richard Glikes. “Exciting, regenerating and stimulating are adjectives
that embody the spirit of this conference and make this meeting so great each
year.” 

Members participated in such
roundtable discussions as “Apple and Android Integration” and “Getting Your
Teams Trained and Up To Speed on Networking.” Featured presenters included
Gramophone’s Kurt Hackenberg, The Sound Room’s Andy Hauck, Sierra Integrated
Home’s Keith Burrowes and Barrett’s John Cook.

In addition, Matt Kramer of
Electronic Integration helped members understand the basics of providing
security services, while Paragon’s Brad Whitehead provided advice on large integration
projects. Vendor sponsors Sony, Dana Innovations and Universal Remote Control
also presented their newest product offerings and offered tools designed to
support the independent specialty channel, while CEDIA’s Jeff Gardner spoke
about designing and installing residential energy management systems.
