Indianapolis - The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group concluded its 10
annual Custom Managers Meeting here last week.
Forty-eight attendees, including members of the A/V, custom install and systems integration group and vendor sponsors, met July 11-13 to share ideas and build relationships, which is a founding principle of HTSA.
"Every year this meeting attracts the best and brightest leaders within the HTSA membership," said HTSA executive director Richard Glikes. "Exciting, regenerating and stimulating are adjectives that embody the spirit of this conference and make this meeting so great each year."
Members participated in such roundtable discussions as "Apple and Android Integration" and "Getting Your Teams Trained and Up To Speed on Networking." Featured presenters included Gramophone's Kurt Hackenberg, The Sound Room's Andy Hauck, Sierra Integrated Home's Keith Burrowes and Barrett's John Cook.
In addition, Matt Kramer of Electronic Integration helped members understand the basics of providing security services, while Paragon's Brad Whitehead provided advice on large integration projects. Vendor sponsors Sony, Dana Innovations and Universal Remote Control also presented their newest product offerings and offered tools designed to support the independent specialty channel, while CEDIA's Jeff Gardner spoke about designing and installing residential energy management systems.
