HTSA Adds 66th Member

Barrington, Ill. — The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) has added San Diego-based Modern Home Systems to its ranks as the buying group’s 66th member.

The specialty retailer and integrator was recently acquired by Otto Benson, principal of La Jolla Home Theater & Automation, a 10-year-old business specializing in automation, home theater, A/V installation, programming, wiring and computer networking for the residential and commercial markets.

Now merged under the Modern Home Systems name, Benson is looking to further expand his operations in the San Diego market. The company embraces a “collaborative approach” that customizes packages for each client and combines existing products with new equipment to build a simplified yet ultimate experience.

“We are excited to partner with the HTSA, [which] shares this same value-driven philosophy, and are looking forward to the new and unique opportunities our membership will bring,” Benson said.

Added HTSA managing director Bob Hana: “Modern Home Systems helps promote a new sense of creativity and collaboration within the HTSA membership, bringing with them years of expertise and dedication to the custom integration market.”

Hana continued, “As we look to grow not only our membership but also our influence across the CE industry, we value like-minded members who strive to make a difference through technology, and look forward to the positive impact Benson and his team will make upon our organization.”
