Barrington, Ill. — System integrator Blair Home Technologies joined The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) last month as the buying group’s 65th member.

Based in Cary, Ill., Blair designs and installs a broad range of A/V systems, from single-room to advanced whole-home custom-integration projects.

HTSA managing director Bob Hana said Blair “brings a truly unique flavor to both the CE marketplace and the HTSA membership” through its ability to “seamlessly blend specialty retail with cutting-edge custom integration.”

He further described Blair as a like-minded member that will help enhance the group’s reach and voice across the industry.”

Blair formally joined HTSA on April 1, along with home-theater seating resource Cinematech. Both additions were announced last month at HTSA’s spring meeting in San Antonio.

Blair CEO Blair Brommel said the decision to join HTSA was prompted by the company’s most recent acquisition, The Big Picture Home Theater Company, a Wilmette, Ill.-based designer and installer of home theaters, private screening rooms, home-wide music systems and smart-home controls.

“We had grown to the point where membership in this prestigious organization was an obvious next step,” Brommel said. “HTSA offers us a networking base, industry connections and other critical tools that will be extremely valuable.”

Brommel said his 21st century business is “high tech and cutting edge in every sense of the word,” although old-fashioned customer service is in the company’s DNA.

“It might sound quaint or even cliché, but every customer is our most important customer,” he noted. “We don't care if you need us for a one-day project or if you need your entire house wired for sound. The customer [is] why we exist, and we never forget that.”

Blair already shares key vendors with the HTSA, including Access Networks, Audioquest, DPI, Harman Luxury Audio Group, IC Realtime, Integra,Leon Speakers, Liberty AV Solutions, Lutron, Middle Atlantic Products, Runco, Samsung, Seura, Sonance, Sony, Stewart Filmscreen and URC.
