HTC One Adding More Carrier Distribution

New York — Distribution of HTC’s flagship Android smartphone, the HTC One, is expanding to additional carriers.

The device has been available from AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile since April, but Verizon promises on its website to offer the device later this summer. Meantime, regional carrier C Spire of Mississippi launched the device at $199.

In a related announcement, the phone will become available in red for the first time through Sprint beginning Friday. Sprint already offers the phone in black and silver. The carrier is also promoting the HTC One in all color options Aug. 16-30, when Sprint will offer a free HTC One with the purchase of another HTC One at $199.

On its website, Verizon posted a sign-up page so consumers could get the latest information on HTC One availability.

The phone features 4.7-inch FullHD 1080p display, front-facing stereo speakers, and BlinkFeed, which delivers a stream of information to a homescreen, including social updates, entertainment and lifestyle information, news and sports.
