San Francisco — Hewlett-Packard announced its annual product blitz yesterday at a conference, here, launching over 100 new products, including its first 10-megapixel digital camera and a touch-screen activated home printer for a “kiosk-like” home printing experience.
HP refreshed its camera line with 11 new models. Topping them off is the 10-megapixel Photosmart R967, which sports a 3-inch LCD with a 170-degree viewing angle, a 3x optical/10x digital zoom and an Anti-Shake mode.
The camera offers HP’s suite of “Real Life” in-camera imaging technology, 32MB of internal memory, 17 shooting modes, macro multi-zone auto focus, VGA video recording at 24 fps, and a dedicated button for tagging images for print ordering on HP’s kiosk and online service Snapfish.
The R967 will ship in September for a suggested $449.
The six-ink Photosmart D7360 photo printer tops HP’s previous speed benchmark with print speeds of 12 seconds for a 4-inch by 6-inch print. It features a 3.4-inch touch-screen color display for controlling printer functions directly, without a PC.
The printer offers a dedicated “Photo Fix” button for one-touch cropping, zoom and red-eye removal, and automatic photo correction. It can produce borderless prints up to 8.5 inches by 24 inches at 4,800 dpi.
The printer will ship in July for a suggested $199.
HP also updated its compact photo-printer line. The new Photosmart A716 is a portable model with a built-in handle and optional battery that offers a 4GB internal hard disc drive and a 2.5-inch display for storing and displaying up to 4,000 digital images without a PC.
The A716 can produce passport, wallet-sized, 4- by 6-inch, 5- by 7-inch and panorama-sized prints without a PC from PictBridge-enabled cameras, memory cards and USB flash drives. It also incorporates the Photo Fix button and offers prints speeds of 39 seconds for a 4- by 6-inch.
The printer can apply effects (such antique, sepia and black-and-white), borders and clip art to images without a PC.
The A716 will ship in August for a suggested $249.
