Palo Alto, Calif. –
Hewlett-Packard today announced several PC accessories, including a Wi-Fi
mouse.
The Wi-Fi Mobile Mouse, $49, directly connects to the computer
without the need for a USB dongle, the company said. The mouse has five
customizable buttons that can be set to handle certain shortcuts and a scroll
wheel. The battery will last about nine months, twice what is normally received
from a Bluetooth version, the company said.
Other new accessories use HP’s Link-5 technology. This allows
users to connect up to five HP compatible PC accessories with one receiver,
alleviating the need to fill up a computer’s USB ports.
The devices have an intelligent sleep mode to help conserve
batter life and do not require the installation of drivers or software.
