Palo Alto, Calif. - Hewlett-Packard added four new printers to its DeskJet line up, including an entry-level model with a $39 estimated street price. HP’s latest introduction starts with the $39 HP DeskJet 3520. This model has 2,400 by 1,200dpi printing and a three-color ink cartridge. The step up is the DeskJet 3650. With a $79 estimated street price it can print 4 by 6-inch photos and has optional six-ink printing capability. At $99 is the DeskJet 5150. This printer has 4,800dpi resolution an can print photos up to 8.5 by 11-inch in size. The flagship printer is the DeskJet 5650. It has a faster speed of 21 pages per minute (ppm) for text and 12ppm for color along with the same optional six-color printing and photo printing of the other models, but adds a print quality selector button. Its estimated street price is $149. The 5650, 3650 and 3520 printers will ship this month with the 5150 following in August. HP also introduced a 250-sheet plain paper tray accessory for use with the 5650 and 5150. The tray, the HPpt3447 has a $79 estimated street price and will be available in August.
