Palo Alto, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard has added two portable Photosmart printers and a single-function model to its lineup.
The HP Photosmart A630 ($149) sports a 4.8-inch touchscreen LCD and supports prints in 4-inch by 6-inch, 4- by 12-inch and 5 by 7-inch. The unit is designed to be portable, with a built-in handle and fold-up paper tray. It also accepts an accessory battery and can work with an optional Bluetooth adapter.

The A530, for $99, offers most of the features of the A630 without as many built-in editing and creative options and a smaller, 2.4-inch LCD display.
Finally, the company added the single-function D5460, which uses five individual ink tanks and features a 1.5-inch LCD display, memory card slots, an automated photo paper tray and direct printing on optical media.
The $99 printer can produce a 4- by 6-inch photo in 18 seconds and prints black text at 33 ppm and color pages at 31 ppm.
According to HP, the print head was made from 55 percent recycled plastic material collected through its Planet Partners recycling program and through other sources.
