Howard Stern Renews Sirius XM Contract

New York – Radio personality Howard
Stern signed a new five-year contract with Sirius XM satellite radio, which got
exclusive rights to transmit Stern’s programming to mobile devices.

Additional terms of the contract
weren’t disclosed.

Stern’s current contract was due to
expire at the end of this month.

Said Stern, “Access to my show on
mobile devices will open up additional opportunities for my fans to hear me
wherever they are.”

He also noted the number of
satellite-radio subscribers has grown to more than 20 million from the 600,000
subscribers listening in when he joined the company.

“In my view, we have just scratched
the surface of how many people will get on board,” he added.

Said Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin, “Howard
forever changed radio and was instrumental in putting Sirius on the map when he
first launched on satellite radio.”

Recently Sirius XM

announced

five years and that the agreement was expanded to include broadcasting of NFL
