Home Automation Hub – Zonoff Staples Connect

Staples is the world’s largest office products retailer, and the chain chose the Zonoff Platform to launch Staples Connect in November 2013.

In addition to Zonoff’s App and Cloud software, Staples sells the Staples Connect Hub, a device manufactured by Linksys that uses Zonoff embedded software, for $99. Customers can hand-pick compatible devices in lighting control and lighting from Lutron, Philips and GE; in climate control from Honeywell; and safety brands like Yale and First Alert, among others.

According to Mike Edwards, Staples’ executive VP of merchandising, “Staples Connect gives consumers looking for a home or office automation solution a broad selection of products to choose from, featuring the top names in safety, lighting, heating and cooling. In addition, we have innovative newcomers, like DoorBot wireless doorbells and the Ivee Wi-Fi voice-activated assistant. Staples Connect makes it easy for customers to control their entire home or office from their smartphone, tablet or laptop, wherever they may be.”

Staples Connect is easy to setup for consumers, but installation is also available through Staples EasyTech Services. Customers can either select a starter kit or choose specific products and services to start with, and add new devices as they go.

The Staples Connect line is featured in highly interactive retail kiosks deployed across the country.
