hhgregg To Open Early For Energy Star Rebates In Fla.

Indianapolis –
hhgregg will open early in South Florida for consumers to take advantage of the
Energy Star rebate programs being offered by Broward and Miami-Dade Counties
next week.

South Florida
hhgregg stores, including Hialeah, Pinecrest, Aventura, Pembroke Pines,
Sawgrass and Fort Lauderdale, will open at 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26.

The retailer said
the Broward County Energy Sense Appliance Rebate Program is open to residents
and small-to medium-sized businesses that replace old appliances with more energy-efficient
appliances.

Up to $400,000 is
available in rebates to eligible participants who purchase qualified Energy
Star refrigerators, freezers or washing machines. The program begins on Sept.
26, and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to residents who
pre-register online and then mail in an application to the county postmarked no
later than Nov. 4.

The Miami-Dade
Residential Appliance Rebate Program is also available to residents only
through a pre-registration process on a first-come, first-served basis Sept. 26
to Oct. 12. Rebates include between $150 and $250 on refrigerators and $150 on
Energy Star clothes washers.

“hhgregg’s
wide selection of more than 500 appliances in stock every day, combined with
our appliance sale and early store hours should make our South Florida stores
the first stop for rebate program shoppers,” said Jeff Pearson, marketing
VP for hhgregg. “Our helpful sales staff can provide advice and expertise
to help customers find the energy efficient appliance that is right for them.”
