hhgregg Enters South Florida

Miami – hhgregg will formally enter
the South Florida market on Thursday with the grand opening of 10 stores here
and in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

The expansion will pit the
multiregional CE and appliance chain against BrandsMart USA, the local big-box
discounter with five superstores stretching from South Miami to West Palm
Beach.

The chains had been fellow NATM
members until hhgregg left the buying group in 2002, prior to its entry into the
Atlanta market where the retailers also go head-to-head.

The new locations bring the total
number of hhgregg stores in Florida to 33, and nationwide total to 200. The
company has also launched major pushes into the Chicago and Pittsburgh areas
this season.

“South Florida is an exciting new
market for hhgregg, and we are delighted to have a presence here,” said marketing
VP Jeff Pearson. “We look forward to serving new customers in the area who can
expect to find a large selection of products, very competitive prices and outstanding
customer service at our stores.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take
place at each new location at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, followed by the
official store opening at 3:00 p.m. hhgregg will hold a Grand Opening
sale from July 14-23 that will include special financing options on items
throughout the store, plus the chance to register to win a Frigidaire
stainless-steel appliance package, a 55-inch LG 3DTV or a Magellan GPS device.
