hhgregg Begins Pittsburgh Area Push

Pittsburgh – hhgregg will formally
enter the Pittsburgh market Thursday with the opening of its first four area
stores.

“The opening of our new stores in Pittsburgh
demonstrates hhgregg’s ongoing commitment to expanding operations in
Pennsylvania,” said Jeff Pearson, marketing VP for the Indianapolis-based
appliance and CE chain.

Indeed, the company has targeted the
Steel City and western Pennsylvania for much of this year’s growth, with the
balance of the projected 35 to 45 new stores opening in Chicago and Miami.

The retailer will also open a new
store in Mobile, Ala., that day.

As per tradition, the new locations
will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, followed by
the official store openings at 3:00 p.m. A grand-opening sale will
run through June 18, during which customers will be offered special
financing options and can register to win a Frigidaire stainless-steel
appliance package or a Magellan GPS device.

The 30,000-square-foot stores are
each staffed by about 50 employees and feature more than 100 TV display models and
stock more than 500 major appliances.

The new locations will bring
hhgregg’s store count to 185 in 15 states as it continues its planned national
expansion.
