Indianopolis — hhgregg isn’t waiting for store closings to make a grab for Circuit City’s market share.
For the next five days the multiregional CE and appliance chain is accepting Circuit City gift cards at all of its stores.
The promotion is being held independent of Circuit City, and hhgregg will apply the cards’ value to only 20 percent of the total purchase price.
Customers will also forfeit their gift cards to hhgregg upon completion of the transaction.
Circuit City is currently holding liquidation sales at 155 stores, of which 30 overlap with hhgregg locations, the company said.
