Las Vegas — HANNspree California, a marketer of LCD TVs with exotic designs, said it has signed a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create lifestyle-oriented LCD television sets based on Looney Tunes cartoon characters.
The initial HANNspree TV line will include LCD TVs patterned after such characters as Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny and the Tazmanian Devil.
The license covers LCD TV products sold in the United States and will enable distributing the new sets at national and regional retailers, all HANNspree-owned stores, HANNSpree.com and Amazon.com, the company said.
All models will feature multidimensional 360 degree designs. Initial entries will include the Bugs Bunny “What’s Up Doc?” model with a 12-inch screen ($499 suggested retail). It includes a rounded silver cabinet capped by an illustration.
Another model, called simply “Bugs Bunny” ($499 suggested), also offers a 12-inch screen, with an adjustable, die-cast metal wire stand in the shape of the rabbit.
The Tweety model ($449) offers a 10-inch screen, adorned with an illustration of the character perched on top of an orange base, taunting Sylvester the Cat.
Taz ($449) offers a 10-inch screen and a body style shaped like a chicken leg. The character’s face is seen chomping on the TV’s detachable cabinet.
