New York – Haier
America has launched an online customer education program to help consumers
make the best room air choices for their needs.
AC is one of several product categories located
within the “Info Hub” section of
where a “How-to-Choose” option provides tips such as determining the proper number
of Btu for the space to be cooled, and how to properly vent a portable air conditioner.
Haier said addressing
consumer misunderstanding of AC basics may reduce returns that can result when purchase
decisions are based solely on price and the customer does not receive the
features a specially designed product selector that walks the customer through
the decision making process, plus demos and videos on features, benefits and installation.
The content will
also be syndicated to Haier’s retail partners, the company said.

As part of the
education effort, Haier’s air conditioner packaging received a redesign that
includes clearer icons and product specs, a “How-to-Choose” diagram placed prominently
on the side of the box, and an optional QR code for retailer-specific packaging
that connects to the Haier website for an interactive mobile experience.
