HAI Adds New Home-Control System

Melville, N.Y. — HAI by Leviton expanded its selection of home-control systems with the launch of the Omni LTe, which sits above the Omni LT in capabilities and below the Omni IIe and Omni Pro II.

HAI systems coordinate multiple home subsystems, including lighting, heating and air conditioning, security systems, multi-room audio, intercoms, and detectors of smoke, fire, carbon monoxide, water and other hazards. The systems feature remote control from a PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, e-reader, and in-wall or tabletop touchscreens. Control apps are available for Android and iOS devices.

The Omni LTe system also controls homes and commercial locations by schedules, motion detection, door openings, sunrise, sunset, alarm activation/deactivation and the like.

The Omni LTe controls up to 32 individual lighting loads, accommodates up to four access-control card readers, and coordinate up to four thermostats. The Omni LTe works with home systems using such technologies as X-10, UPB, Omni-Bus, ZigBee, Vizia RF Z-Wave, Clipsal C-Bus, Dynalite, Coolmaster, KNX, HAI Hi-Fi and HAI Hi-Fi 2.

In August, Leviton acquired HAI (Home Automation Inc.) to expand its offerings in the residential market. HAI, now called HAI by Leviton, operates as a stand-alone business unit, continues to be based in New Orleans, and continues to be managed Jay McLellan, who was HAI’s CEO and president.
