Technology and Dijit Media have announced a new Android-only version of the
Beacon Universal Remote Control System.
The wireless A/V controller pairs
with any Android device via Bluetooth pairing and works with Dijit’s free
Universal Remote App to enable control over a home’s home entertainment system
directly from the Android interface by converting Bluetooth signals from the
Android device into IR signals recognized by CE devices.
Beacon is powered by 4 AA
batteries and is compatible with any device running Android OS 2.3.3 or
greater.
The Dijit app for Android is
compatible with more than 200,000 CE devices and includes a Search and Discover
TV Shows function which allows users to browse and search content listings as
well as have new shows recommended to them; and rich TV show listings including
episode details, upcoming schedules, and cast and crew info.
