Gateway Updates Desktop Lines

Irvine, Calif. – Gateway has revamped its FX, SX and
DX lines of desktop computers.

The FX series sports a redesigned chassis that includes top-front
mounted high-definition headphone and microphone jacks, an angled media card
reader, and a recessed storage tray on the top-mounted tray to hold peripherals
when not in use.

The two models in the series are the FX6831-03 and the FX FX6831-01.
The former, $1,699, has an Intl Core i7 860 2.87GHz with Turbo Boost
Technology, an ATI Radeon HD5850 with 1GB of memory graphics card, 16GB of DDR3
dual-channel memory, a 1.5TB SATA 7,200 rpm hard drive and a combo Blu-ray
ROM/DVD SuperMulti drive.

The FX FX6831-01, $1,299, drops the Blu-Ray drive and offers half
the amount of memory.

The SX series is part of Gateway’s small-form-factor offering.
The SX2840-01, $559, has an Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz processor, Intel
integrated graphics, 6GB of DDR3 memory, a variable speed 1TB hard drive and a
DVD SuperMulti drive.

The final addition is the DX4831-03 multimedia desktop. Priced at
$849, the model is powered by an Intel Core i5 650 3.2Ghz processor, has an Nvidia
GeForce GT220 graphics card with 1GB of onboard memory, 8GB of DDR3 memory, the
same 1TB hard drive as the small-form-factor PC, a Blu-ray ROM drive and a DVD
SuperMulti drive.
