Gateway Sets Holiday Lineup

Gateway introduced the M210 thin and light notebook line to go along with two new Media Center desktop PCs the company launched last week.

The M210 Series has an $899 starting suggested retail price, is 1.2 inches thick and weighs in at just over five pounds. The series is based around a 14.1-inch display and uses either Intel Centrino with Pentium M technology or Celeron M processors. Consumers will have a choice of a DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive or a DVD burner, 40GB or 60GB hard drive, and up to 1.2GB of memory. All units are Wi-Fi equipped.

On the desktop front the company has introduced the 7200S and low-priced 3250X Media Center PCs. Both are only available direct from Gateway. The former has a $1,399 street price, which includes a 17-inch LCD monitor, and it features a Pentium 4 3.2GHz processor with hyperthreading technology, an FM/TV tuner, a 128MB ATI Radeon X300SE PCI Express graphics card, 8x dual-format double-layer DVD burner and a 250GB hard drive. The PC incorporates an eight-in-one digital media reader and can take up to 4GB of DDR memory.

The 3250X has a slightly slower processor, 160GB hard drive and 48x CD-RW burner and is priced at $799.
