Garmin To Be Standard On Suzuki

Olathe, Kan. — Garmin will provide an integrated navigation system for the new 2009 Suzuki SX4, marking the first time in the United States that a vehicle less than $16,000 will include GPS navigation as a standard feature, said Garmin.

The Garmin device, based on the Nuvi 700 series, will be removable from its integrated mount so it may be used as a portable. It will use a 4.3-inch screen and include maps of North America. Car buyers can also elect to upgrade to a premium navigation system that includes MSN Direct real-time traffic information, fuel prices, weather reports, stock market information, movie listings and other information. Owners can pair most Bluetooth-enabled phones with the device for hands-free calling.

The 2009 Suzuki SX4 will ship this summer.

Garmin also offers custom Nuvi solutions for BMW, Volvo and Mini vehicles.
