Olathe, Kan. — Garmin is once again adding to its popular Nuvi portable GPS line, offering two lower-priced, large-screen models.
The Nuvi 200W and 250W have 4.3-inch color widescreens and are designed for users who want basic navigation features but with a large screen, said a spokeswoman. With the addition of these models in July, the company will offer a dozen Nuvi models in the United States.
The units offer turn-by-turn navigation and rerouting and now allow users to add custom points of interest from third parties such as school zones and safety cameras.
Extra features include a picture viewer, calculator, currency converter, unit converter and world clock. Users can also add optional SD travel guides priced at about $70.
The 200W has preloaded maps of the lower 48 U.S. states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico at $499 and the 250W adds maps of Alaska and Canada at $549.
