Winston-Salem, N.C. – Nationwide Marketing Group will begin
carrying the Sylvania, Philips and Magnavox brands under a new program with
Doug Schatz, the buying
group’s electronics merchandising VP, said the good-better-best program will
allow member dealers to source three strong brands from a single vendor and enjoy
the pricing benefits of a factory-direct relationship while buying in
quantities appropriate for their businesses.
Mike Decker, Nationwide’s electronics marketing senior VP, said
the Funai lines will provide dealers with traffic-driving, opening-price-point
products in the absence of promotional opportunities from tier-one manufacturers.
He added that Funai’s pricing will allow dealers to offer “more competitive
price points then they had before.”
Unlike some manufacturers with steep freight requirements, Funai will
ship directly to independent dealers, allowing members to combine shipments of
all three Fuani brands for lower, or usually no, shipping costs, explained Funai
president/COO Ernie Padalino.
