Fujiwara Named Hitachi America President

Tarrytown, N.Y. –
Chiaki Fujiwara was appointed president and CEO of

Hitachi

America, effective April 1.

Fujiwara, who
currently serves as senior VP/general manager of the industrial systems division
and corporate business development of Hitachi America, succeeds Kiyoshi
Kinugawa, who has been appointed chief marketing officer, sales and marketing
division, industrial and social infrastructure systems company, Hitachi.

Fujiwara joined Hitachi
America in October 2008. He previously held the position of deputy general
manager, global business division, in the corporate marketing group of Hitachi
from 2006 to 2008.

He joined Hitachi
in 1978 and has held supervisory and senior management positions with Hitachi China
and Hitachi Europe. He has extensive experience in industrial machinery systems
and information systems.

Kinugawa had been
president and CEO of Hitachi America since October 2008. Previously, he was
executive VP and general manager of the industrial systems division for Hitachi
America from 2006 to 2008 and prior to that he served as power and industrial
division VP with Hitachi America.

Prior to joining Hitachi
America in 2005 he served as general manager, industrial plant systems and
equipment sales division, Hitachi. He joined Hitachi in 1975.
