Fujitsu Ships HD 1080p Home Projector

Fairfield, N.J. — Fujitsu is now shipping an LCD-based 1080p high-definition front projector based on Epson’s 3LCD technology for the home theater market.

Model LPF-D711 carries a $25,000 suggested retail and is being distributed through Fujitsu’s core Plasmavision retail distribution base. It was originally shown to select dealers at September’s CEDIA Expo.

In addition to using Epson’s 1920 by 1080p 3LCD technology, Fujitsu incorporates its proprietary Advanced Video Movement II (AVM-II) digital video-processor.

The projector also features a separate supplied Selector Unit (model LPF-QSD1WB), which houses the projector’s connectivity options, including HDMI, DVI-D, component video, digital and analog RGB inputs and an RS-232 controller.

The unit is driven by 3 16:9 high-definition poly silicon TFT active matrix LCD panels, each measuring 1.3 inches. It also includes a precision micro lens array.

Contrast ratio of the LPF-D711 is listed at 3,300:1, and brightness is said to be 1,200 ANSI Lumens.

“The LPF-D711 can project a super-bright, detailed image, even in brightly-lit rooms, from 36 inches to 25 feet (diagonal measurement) for spectacular big-screen impact in home theater installations,” the company said.

The Fujitsu LPF-D711 LCD front projector carries a three-year warranty on the life of the projector, and a 2,000-hour warranty on the life of the bulb.
